John Conteh

From the world of boxing, John Conteh is one of Britains finest ever World Champions and a great sporting character and speaker.

John turned professional in 1971 and in three short years had achieved his pinnacle by winning the World Light Heavyweight Championship, defeating George Arumada at Wembley, in 1974.

He retired in 1980 after successfully defending his title on three occasions, with a fight record of 39 professional fights with only five defeats.’
