Sport Speakers - Sally Gunnell
Sally Gunnell OBE is the only woman in history to hold an Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth title at the same time. She also holds the 400m world record and is arguably the countries greatest ever female athlete. Off the track, Sally is one of Britains best loved, and most respected personalities and her popularity has never diminished. But above all else, she remains one of the most personable and approachable 'superstars' who has not let her success change either her values or down to earth approach to life.
Since retiring through injury she has become a mother and immersed herself in a burgeoning career away from the track. Principally this has involved the health, fitness and well-being market through broadcasting and writing, including principal roles with the BBC, The British Heart Foundation, Sport England and Race for Life. Her strategy over the years is firmly geared towards being the countrys leading voice in bringing health and fitness to a wider audience.
Sallys career on and off the track provides a unique insight into achieving a balance in live and proven recipes for success and fulfillment. During her career she adopted principles and routines with her 'team that delivered the results most sports people only dream of. Now her off track career has seen her combine commercial commitments with her community and charitable work, whilst being a mother and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
