AKABUSI
Kriss is
famous for
his achievements
in Athletics
where his
greatest individual
triumph was
a Gold Medal
in the 1990
European Championships
when he also
beat David
Hemery's 22
year old British
Record. He
began his
international
career in
1983 as a
member of
the 4 x 400
metre relay
squad and
will always
be remembered
for helping
Britain clinch
the gold and
beat the Americans
in the World
Championships
4 x 100 metre
relay in Tokyo
in 1991.
His dynamic
personality
and reputation
as a fantastic
performer
has made him

versatile

celebrity.

Born on 28
November 1958
in Paddington,
North London.
Kriss arrived
back from
Nigeria and
placed under
care (farm
house) in
the Borough
of Islington
for eight
years from
1967.
Joined the
British Armed
Forces in
September
1975 (Sergeant)
until October
1990 (Senior
Warrant Officer).
He was a part
time student
at U/USA Pacific
University,
California
1990-93.
In 1991 he
was awarded
an MBE and
an Honorary
Degree from
Southampton
University.
