JOE
LONGTHORNE
A
fine singer
and all-round
musician,
his unique
talent in
impersonating
a huge range
of male and
female singers
has made him,
unquestionably,
the world's
leading musical
impressionist.
Amongst his
repertoire:
Barry Manilow,
Shirley Bassey,
Tom Jones,
Neil Diamond,
Engelbert
Humperdinck,
David Bowie,
Pavarotti,
Sinatra, Michael
Jackson, John
Lennon, Presley
and Judy Garland.
Joe
Longthorne
has established
himself, in
no uncertain
terms through
guest appearances
on all major
light entertainment
shows; undoubted
star of the
1989 Royal
Variety Performance;
three series
of "The
Joe Longthorne
Show",
several one
hour specials;
and his own
"This
is Your Life."
He
released his
first album,
"I Wish
You Love"
in 1993 with
two singles,
"Lady
Blue"
and "Young
Girl".
There have
been three
platinum-winning
albums for
Telstar, "The
Joe Longthorne
Songbook,"
"Especially
for You",
"The

Album."
and "Live

Albert Hall."
Joe
made his breakthrough
to success
initially
on television
when he featured
as Special
Guest Star
for the entire
series of
BBC TV's 'Les
Dennis's Laughter
Show,' which
led to his
first TV special
for Thames
TV - "The
Joe Longthorne
Show".
In
the summer
of 1987, he
topped the
bill in his
own show at
the North
Pier, Blackpool,
for the season
and created
a piece of
showbusiness
history on
the opening
night when
he received
a tumultuous
standing ovation
for his show-stopping
performance.
Two years
later he was
back at the
North Pier.
Joe's
talent has
also won praise
in America
from Press
and public
alike: in
1985, he was
invited to
headline a
season at
the Drury
Lane Theatre,
Chicago in
his own show,
'Salute to
the Superstars.'
The show was
originally
booked to
run for six
weeks, but
proved so
successful
it was extended
to five months,
transferring
to one of
America's
theatre nightclubs,
the Encore
Theatre, Philadelphia
running for
a further
seven months.
He was also
seen on several
major American
television
shows in the
USA.
Today,
Joe Longthorne
is recognised
as one of
the most dynamic
entertainers
in British
showbusiness
... and with
two highly
successful
Australian
tours to his
credit, his
reputation
is quickly
spreading
throughout
the world.
