JASON WOOD

jason woodJason Wood is carving out a niche for himself in the comedy world with his effervescent campery, hilarious comedy, and spine tinglingly good singing. His warmth and wit combine spectacularly for his new show ‘Jason Wood Gets His Hits Out For The Lads’ which premiered at the Pleasance at this year’s Edinburgh Festival. Full of hysterical stories and impressive off-the-cuff quips, Jason leaves his audience delighted, smiling and just a little bit more camp. He is taking the show to the Soho Theatre in London this October.

Whilst his amazing singing voice astounds all Jason is inherently funny as he is a naturally gifted singer. An excellent stand-up, Jason wins over audiences with his hysterical chat and acidic banter, bursting with fun and bonhomie. He has wowed audiences at top comedy club across the UK and has performed in Holland, Germany, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the USA each time scoring a hit with his winning brand of camp confessional comedy. Over the past two years he has appeared on many television networks including TV3 New Zealand, Anglia Television, Carlton, BBC 1 and in 2001 he was followed by Channel 4 for the series of Edinburgh or Bust. His talents astonished audiences at the Baxter Theatre during the 2002 Cape Town Comedy Festival, South Africa and last Autumn saw Jason presenting kills on Ian Wright’s new hidden camera show, Spy TV, for primetime BBC 1.

Jason is one of the celebrities chosen to compete in the new BBC 1 show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to be hosted by Bruce Forsyth. The show goes on air in May 2004.

Jason is becoming the best-kept secret on the corporate circuit and his management have been inundated with calls from corporate entertainment bookers wanting him for their events. Jason’s television career is moving forward fast as well, having been a presenter on the prime time BBC 1 hidden camera show SPY TV, and he is currently working with producers and writers developing more work for television.
