GROOVE JUICE
This
groovy five-piece
band is led by bass
guitarist Lloyd
Orford whose projects
have already supported
the like of Imagination,
The Real Thing,
Heatwave, Courtney
Pine, Ruby Turner
and Love Train.
June ’98 heralded
the international
debut of Groovejuice
at the French Fete
de la Musique in
Nice before an audience
of thousands. The
front-page photo
of the group in
the Nice Matin newspaper
was testament to
a great performance.
Groovejuice
have supported disco
legend Shalamar
at The Ipswich Regent
and play with the
every-soulful George
McCrae at the Orchard
Theatre in Dartford.
Corporate and private
engagements have
taken the band from
the prestigious
Café de Paris
in London’s
swinging Piccadilly
to established club
venues such as Jackson’s
in Carlisle. At
the Cambridge Festival
Groovejuice supported
the late great Edwin
Starr and as the
man said “
They sound pretty
damn good to me!”
As
with all dance band,
the acid test is
crowd reaction.
Having bags of talent
and a burning desire
to party, Groovejuice
will coax even the
coolest crowd on
the dance floor
within minutes.
Seventies costumes
and a set list bulging
with funky disco
classics create
the ultimate Seventies
Solid Gold Sensation.
Groovejuice can
also appear with
additional top Female
vocalists, brass
and percussion to
create a really
spectacular show.
The
band are fully self
contained with quality
sound and lighting
systems enabling
them to provide
the Disco between
sets as well if
required.
