FRISCO
CRABBE AND THE ATLANTIC
FRANTICS
Frisco
Crabbe and The Atlantic
Frantics were formed
in the summer of
1991, from the cream
of musical talent
in Manchester. The
eight piece consist
of Guitar, bass,
drums, keyboards,
vocals and a three
man horn section
(Tenor and Alto
saxes and Trumpet).
The
brainchild of John
Crabbe, the band
were formed as a
vehicle to showcase
not only the phenomenal
musical range and
dexterity of its
members, but also
to highlight the
need for a strong
visual performance.
The
band has successfully
toured the States
and Australia, as
well as regularly
playing all over
Europe. Individually,
band members have
had great success
as session players
for some of the
biggest names in
pop, soul, jazz
and rock, including
Squeeze, Robbie
Williams, Black
Grape and The Brand
New Heavies. In
1998, the band appeared
on Emmerdale as
Kim Tate’s
wedding band!
A
mixture of soul,
funk and classic
rock/pop, the band
describe themselves
as ‘Not a
Commitments Tribute’
– although
they cover the hits
of Otis Reading,
etc, Wilson Pickett,
etc, their range
is wide ranging,
to cover classics
from Prince, The
Beatles, The Rolling
Stones and many
more.
