LONDON CHINESE ACROBATS

Chinese Acrobatics
is one of the
oldest performing
arts. It dates
back to the
Warring States
period in China
(475 - 221BC)
The discovery
of wall paintings
and pottery
figurines of
the Han Dynasty
(206 BC - AD
220) confirms
that the repertoires
even in this
period were
quite sophisticated.
Chinese Acrobatics
has maintained
its popularity
throughout history,
and even Emperors
would entertain
foreign emissaries
with acrobatic
performances
in their palaces.
The
London Chinese
Acrobats have
been professionally
trained in China
from as young
a six years
old and have
a minimum of
20 years experience
each. They perform
internationally
and are gold
medal winners
in Chinese competitions.
Apart
from performing
in the traditional
style of the
Chinese Circus,
the group studies
the latest development
in Chinese acrobatics
and endeavours
to combine this
special form
of performance
with contemporary
trends of western
circus and dance
to create a
unique style
of performance.
As
well as acrobats,
the group also
use Chinese
classical and
folk dancers
and martial
arts experts,
tailoring the
act to suit
any occasion.
Acts include
The Northern
Lion Dance,
Dragon Dance,
Hoop Diving,
Flag Martial
Arts, Kung Fu,
Chinese Classical
and Folk Dance,
Human Pyramid,
Hoop Formation
Dance, Balancing
Board, Comic
Performance
and Magic.
