TIDY
Bill
Tidy was born
in Tranmere,
Cheshireand
now lives
in the East
Midlands.
Bill took
to cartooning
professionally
after his
plans to emigrate
to Canada
fell through.
Instead he
decided to
fly from Liverpool
to London
for a job
interview
and sat next
to a young
Italian girl
who became
his wife and
they now have
three children.
Bill is famed
for cartoon
strips such
as "The
Cloggies"
(Private Eye),
"The
Fosdyke Saga"
(The Daily
Mirror) and
"The
Last Chip
Shop in England"
(Private Eye)
"Doctor
Whittle"
(General Practitioner)
and "Kegbuster"
in Camra's
monthly magazine.
He is also
a regular
contributor
for Punch
magazine.
His regular
appearances
on Television
and Radio
quiz and game
shows include
"Countdown",
"Alphabet
Game"
and "Sorry
I haven't
Got a Clue"
to name but
a few and
has guest
presented
many shows
including
Food File,
Country File
and has a
regular slot
on Sky Sports
2 on Saturdays.
Ever popular
he was a subject
of This Is
Your Life.
As a speaker
Bill's totally
unique After
Dinner presentations,
with his phenomenally
quick on the
draw humour,
enthral audiences
again and
again and
he has many
leading companies,
Sanyo, Jaguar,
and ICI to
name but a
few, calling
for his services.
Advertising
Agencies and
Public Relations
companies
also regularly
request his
help in their
campaigns;
sales conference
speaking,
product launches,
open days
etc. Clients
include Batchelors,
British Telecom,
East Midlands
Airport and
Marks &
Spencer.
A writer
of more than
twenty books
and illustrator
of over seventy,
Bill's first
novel "The
World's Worst
Golf Club"
was published
in November
1987. He has
also written
his autobiography
"Is There
Any News of
the Iceberg".
Bill also

in the form
of original
limited editions,
Christmas
Cards and
Calendars
etc, specifically
aimed at companies,
tailoring
each drawing
to the company's
corporate
identity.

Bill is an
avid cricketer
and has been
an active
member of
The Lord's
Taverners
for over twenty
five years.
His other
hobbies include
supporting
Everton FC
and cultivating
peas and beans
in his garden.
