ALAN
CHAMBERS
Alan Chambers
MBE was born
in North Lincolnshire
1968 and educated
at Frederick
Gough School,
Lincolnshire.
In 1985 he
joined the
Royal Marine
Commandos
in Devon and
continued
to serve in
the Royal
Marines for
the next sixteen
years, qualifying
as a diver,
parachutist,
paramedic
and ski survival
instructor.
Whilst in
the Marines,
he travelled
the world,
working in
the Arctic,
desert, jungle
and mountains.
He spent four
winters above
the snow line,
operating
in the mountains
of North Norway
spending extensive
time teaching
and instructing
in humanitarian
conditions,
and leading
various size
teams of Marines,
until Christmas
2000, when
he left the
service and
returned to
the UK.
After leaving
the Marines
Alan embarked
on a new career,
giving motivational
talks to all
levels of
management,
worldwide.
His themes
of teamwork,
leadership,
self discipline
and mental
focus, whilst
based on his
own experiences
are tailored
to suit the
requirements
of the target
audience.
Alan is an
Honorary Director
of the Johnnie
Walker Fund,
a panel of
experienced
businessmen
and adventurers,
who sponsor
global expeditions
emphasising
key values
such as leadership
and personal
progress.
He also advises
on Cold Climate
Expeditions,
delivering
expertise
on nutritional
needs, equipment
and clothing
and on leadership
selection
for an expedition
company currently
running, organising
and developing
team expeditions
to the four
corners of
the world.
Alan has
worked with
a film company
on a documentary
of the Unsupported
Walk to the
Geographical
North Pole,
successfully
completed
in 2000.
