It's worth remembering that Tony Christie was asking for directions to Amarillo, Burt Bacharach and Dusty Springfield were combining to give us the 'Look of Love' and the summer sounds of the American West Coast were assuaging our ears, courtesy of the Beach Boys and the Mamas and the Papas
