Alan Price (Electric Blues Band)

One of British Rock Music’s original greats, had four top ten hits in the 60’s/early 70’s under his own name with “I Put A Spell On You” – “Simon Smith And His Amazing Dancing Bear” – “The House That Jack Built” and “Jarrow Song”. During the 60’s/early 70’s he also enjoyed great success with his band The Animals.

Animals (The)
Formed in 1963, they had their first number No. 1 in 1964 with “The House Of The Rising Sun” followed by seven top 10 hits throughout the 60’s, which were “I’m Crying” – “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” – “Bring It On Home To Me” – “We Gotta Get Out Of This Place” – “It’s My Life” – “Don’t Bring Me Down” and “San Franciscan Nights. Other well-known hits include, “Help Me Girl” – “When I Was Young” – “Good Times” – “Sky Pilot” and Ring Of Fire” etc.

Bachelors (The)
One of the few popular non-rock groups of the 60’s. They were the first trio to top the UK singles chart and had hits on both sides of the Atlantic with revivals of popular pre-rock ballads. There No. 1 hit came in 1964 with “Diane”, followed by six top ten hits throughout the 60’s, “Charmaine” – “I Believe” – “Ramona” – “I Wouldn’t Trade You For The World” – “No Arms Can Ever Hold You” – “Marie” and “The Sound of Silence”.

Bobby Vee
A 60’s legend from the USA, whose million selling hits include “Take Good Care Of My Baby” – “The Night Has A Thousand Eyes” – “Run To Him” – “Sharing You” and “More Than I Can Say”. Appears with his own band ‘The Vees’.

Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich
The original quintet are still together after re-forming in the 90’s. Their stage act is simply stunning and blends gentle five part harmony ballads with thumping renditions of their sixties classics, such as “Hold Tight” – “Hideaway” – “Bend It” – “Save Me” – “Okay!” – “Zabadak” – “The Legend Of Xanadu” and “Last Night in Soho”.

Drifters
The Drifters are the longest running band is pop history still performing live and enjoying over 50 hits world-wide. Over the years the group have undergone many line-up changes and the singers currently performing are directly descended from those early days. Until very recently the most consistent member, the late, great Johnny Moore (who first joined the Drifters in 1954) took the stage with three of the current members, Peter Lamarr, Partick Alan and Rohan Delano Turney. When Johnny died in 1998, the Drifters decided to continue in his honour, bringing Victor Bynoe to complete the line up. Still performing all there well-known songs, such as, “Save The Last Dance For Me” – “Saturday Night At The Movies” – “Under The Boardwalk” – “Come On Over To My Place” – “Kissin’ In The Back Row Of The Movies” – “There Goes My First Love” – You’re More Than A Number In My Little Red Book” etc., etc.

Foundations (The)
Featuring original vocalist Clem Curtis, the voice on “Baby Now That I Found You”. “Build Me Up Buttercup”, is now a classic anthem. This group perform a great soul show and have currently become a big hit on the University circuit.

Herman's Hermits
One of the most successful groups throughout the world. From their beginning in Manchester, in 1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, 3 major movies and countless television shows and concert tours all over the world - up to date they have total record sales of over 75 million. Hits include “Silhouettes” – “I’m Into Something Good” and “There’s A Kind of Hush”.

Jimmy Ruffin
One of the great Motown stars, in concert re-creates an epic era. Like so many of the great soul singers Jimmy Ruffin has his roots in Gospel music as did his whole family. Well known hits include “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted” – “Farewell Is A Lonely Sound” – “I’ll Say Forever My Love” – “It’s Wonderful (To Be Loved By You)” and “Hold On To My Love”.

Manfred Mann
Such is the durability of The Manfreds' music that in 1992 EMI Records offered a new deal to the band to re-record all their greatest hits. “Do Wah Diddy Diddy” – “ 5-4-3-2-1” – “ Pretty Flamingo” – “Ha! Ha! Said The Clown” – “Mighty Quinn” – “Semi-Detached Suburban Mr. James” – “Ragamuffin Man” – “Blinded By The Light” and “Davy’s On The Road Again” …. the list is as long as it is impressive. There are no less than four original members in ‘The Manfreds' line-up.

Marmalade
Scottish band Marmalade had their spell at the top during the 60’s and 70’s. Their eight top ten hits included a number one - a cover of the Beatles' album track "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" in 1968 as well as “Lovin Things” – “Baby Make It Soon” – “Reflections Of My Life” – “Rainbow” – “Couisin Norman” – “Radancer” and “Falling Apart At The Seams”.

Marty Wilde & The Wild Cats
One of the original British Rock ‘n’Roll pioneers. Between 1958 and 1962 they had 13 consecutive hit records including. “Donna” – “Sea Of Love” – “Endless Sleep” – “Teenager In Love” – “Bad Boy” and “Jezebel. They were regulars on 6.5 Special, Oh Boy and Boy Meets Girl, and appeared on stage in the musical Bye Bye Birdie, and have made 2 Royal Command Performances. Marty is singer, Kim Wilde’s father.

The Merseybeats were one of the better Liverpool bands of the British Invasion, scoring several large and minor hits in the UK, such as "Wishin' and Hopin'" – “I Stand Accused" – “It’s Love That Really Counts” – “I Think Of You” – “Don’t Turn Around” and “I Love You, Yes I Do”.

Swinging Blue Jeans
One of the most famous groups from the 60’s, two original members performing all the hits, “Hippy Hippy Shake” – “Good Golly Miss Molly”, “You’re No Good” etc.

Tremeloes (The)
In 1963 they had a top ten hit with “Twist & Shout”. This was quickly followed by up their No. 1 “Do you Love Me”. Then came other hits such as, “Candy Man” – “Someone Someone” – “Here Comes My Baby “ – “Silence is Golden” (also made No. 1 in 1967) – “Even the Bad Times Are Good” – “Suddenly You Love Me” and many more. They are now very successful both in the UK and internationally, creating the original sounds of all their hits.

Troggs (The)
There first No. 1 came in 1966, “With A Girl Like You”, but are most well known for "Wild Thing" which reached No. 2 earlier that year. Also making the top 10 were “I Can’t Control Myself” – “ Any Way That You Want Me” and “Love Is All Around”. Wild sounds and a great show from this original sixties group.

Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders
Sixties pop icons singing all the hits including “Um Um Um Um Um Um,” which reached No. 5 in 1965 – “Game of Love,” which reached No.2 the same year, “Just a Little Bit Too Late” – “Come On Home” and “Pamela Pamela” all reaching the top 20 in 1965/66.
